Hey Donna! Shoot me an email if you have any questions. Yoganej (at) gmail
I’m looking for yoga to aid infertilty treatments. Would the yoga for beginners be ok for this? Or so you recommend another specific class? I’m brand new to yoga with a previous back injury.
Hi Andrea! Before I say much more, I want to make sure you know that I’m not a healthcare professional, and my first advice would be to speak with your doctor. 🙂 Now, onto your question….(if your doctor agrees it’s ok to begin a yoga practice) because of your newness to yoga, the previous back injury, and the fertility goals, my recommendation with be either a restorative yoga class, classes listed as gentle, or a Yin style class. All are more gentle to the body which are things you will want to look for with your goals and condition in mind. If you are already an active person, a beginner’s yoga class would most likely be ok, but from what I know about the human body, becoming pregnant can be greatly affected by new stresses or activity….so speaking with your fertility professional would be very important. These same classes (listed above) would also be a great way to introduce your compromised back to yoga. I hope this helps!
